There are several different specialities in the Marine Corps Combat Arms career field. You can serve in the Infantry, Artillery or the Armor divisions. Each of the different divisions work together cooperatively with each other and the other members of the Armed Services to fight and perform missions for the US Marine Corps. Armor- Being in the Marine Corps at a rule means that you serve onboard a tank. This is not always true, but the majority of the United States Marine Corps Armor are based in tank units. There are some Armor divisions that are amphibious assault based as a crewmember.

RICHMOND — the Marine Corps League is a national veteran’s service organization dedicated to those who are currently serving in the United States Marine Corps, as well as those who have been honorably discharged from that service. the Madison County Marine Corps League, Bluegrass Detachment 1012, has been active in the local community since 1999. Mike Leaverton, Commandant of the Bluegrass Detachment, has been involved with the League since 1993.Their organization works in conjunction with other veteran’s service organizations such as the Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Purple Heart Association. the Marine Corps League sponsors an annual coat drive that has successfully provided over 1,600 coats to community members in the past three years. Many of those coats come from the recruits at the Department of Criminal Justice Training at EKU. these recruits are instrumental in making the coat drive a success, often returning to Richmond with coats from their respective home communities.
